Wrestlers of the Month February 2026
Hi y'all it is time for another wrestler of the month list, same point format as last time which will be listed below. This was a weird month of wrestling, I watched more than I did in January, around 405 matches compared to 325 from January, but wrestlers didn't stand out across more than two or three matches as they did in January. Nonetheless, it was still a wonderful month for wrestling. Now onto the list.
Here is how the breakdown of points works with .75 for 6 man tags.
0-2 = -1 (-.75) Point
2-2.5 = 0 Points
2.75 = 1 (.75) Point
3 = 2 (1.5)
3.25 = 3 (2.25)
3.5 = 4 (3)
3.75 = 5 (3.75)
4 = 8 (6)
4.25 = 10 (7.5)
4.5 = 12 (8)
4.75 = 14 (10.5)
5= 18 (13.5)
15 Feroz 24
Feroz was one of the standouts in the Torneo Escuela in CMLL representing Ultimo Guerrero. He also had a hell of a match with Judas el Traidor in Lucha Memes. He was a true standout in the Escuela finals. A genuinely awesome luchador who I pray sticks around in CMLL. Him and Estudiante were real solid in the first two rounds of the Torneo and the seeding Cibernetico was amazing and worth finding. Another excellent Ultimo Guerrero trainee who you should keep an eye on.
T-14. Chihiro Hashimoto 25
The thing with this month of wrestling is that it was quieter for a lot of it. A handful of amazing matches that require watching, but no one truly having an other-worldly month compared to January. Here we have arguably the best ace figure in wrestling with only 25 points to make the top 15. She had one standout match with Senka Akatsuki, truly a great match against one of the super rookies in Joshi, as well as an excellent tag in Evo Pro with Chi Chi, Hiroyo Matsumoto and Zones. To finish off talking about her month she had one more match worth mentioning against Miyuki Takase in Senjo. Hashimoto has been awesome to start this year and that continued in February.
T-14 Ai Houzan 25
Ai is not usually considered amongst the super rookies lower in the hierarchy like Senka or Sora Ayame, and Mio Momono had something to say about that fact. Mio wrestled the match in a way that was almost uncomfortably stiff, absolutely laying into Ai for 5 minutes begging her to fight back, for Ai to show her something. It was a lesson given out in a way you rarely see in modern wrestling and it seemed to work. Her next major match worth talking about is vs Sareee, which if you are a young wrestler probably fills you with dread. However Ai didn't lose in the same way she did to Mio, she put up a hell of a fight, even if it was for naught against the Sun God. Ai has started to step up to the next level within Marvelous and that is awesome to see.
13 Hechicero 25.25
Hechicero's month is really highlighted by a delightful Fantastica Mania with the best match on the tour in his Korakuen hall singles with Mascara Dorada including one of the best planchas you will ever see off the scaffolding. His month was more low-key outside of that but still very solid. I enjoyed the 3 way at Fantastic Mania even if the time limit was aggravating. Just a very solid month from wrestling's premier mad alchemist. A handful of fun but not must-watch trios matches in CMLL that helped propel him to this spot.
T-10 Mad Dog Connelly 26
The Mad Dog, one of the premier brawlers in all of wrestling, had 2 of the most absurd brawls you will ever see in wrestling in Action Wrestling and Jersey Championship Wrestling. Mad Dog first went to war with his "we are destine to do this forever" rival in 1 Called Manders in a cage that is one of the most grizzly cage matches you will find anywhere on the planet, absolutely heinous brawling and blood aplenty as one would expect. Then later in the month, he topped it in one of the most disgusting brawls you will ever see with Slade. They took lumps out of each other in the TWE arena. Just strikes that are stomach churning as the thud echoes through the shocked crowd as two of the craziest men in wrestling take lumps out of each other. Mad Dog is a wrestler out of time and it is always amazing to see him work opponents who can match the intensity.
T-10 Senka Akatsuki 26
We talked about this Marvelous super rookie earlier briefly, here we are talking about her on her own having a quite excellent month. The two major Senjo singles delivered vs Yuna and Hashimoto, the feud with Magenta in various forms has been delightful to watch on all levels. Often times Senka's input into matches was better than the matches themselves, but slowly, as she has gotten more experienced, the match structure has matched her abilities, leading to better and better matches. I am really excited to see how she continues to get better as she gets more experienced.
9 Yasshi 27
Yasshi is one of those people on the indie scene in Japan whose been around for a long time who rarely pops up in bigger places but is absolutely incredible. He can genuinely work just about anyone and get a compelling match. Most of these points come from the Meriken Pro Anchor title tournament which was a delightful tournament and worth watching. However his finest hour this month was after the tournament ended with him as champion. His business partner Badmax Fujinaga challenged him for the title and they then proceeded to beat the living daylights out of each other as only friends could for 8 minutes. A veteran of the indie scene Yasshi still has a lot to give and he showed it in February.
T-7 Soberano Jr. 27.25
Soberano is another one of the CMLL luchadors who had an awesome Fantastic Mania trip to Japan, the aforementioned trios match, plus the singles vs Templario were excellent, alongside several real solid trios and tags throughout the month in CMLL before the trip to Japan. He is one of the very best rudos going right now and his personality shines through the entire time no matter where he pops up. A genuinely special talent who will be key for CMLL going forward.
T-7 Mio Momono 27.25
We already talked about Mio's finest hour against Ai where she delivered a painful lesson to the young Houzan. However that is not all she is here for. Bob Bob Momo Banana had a hell of a match in Senjo opposite Dash and Matsumoto, plus she had a real fun 6 man tag on her 10th anniversary. Marvelous is one of the most fun promotions on the planet earth and Mio Momono is one of the absolute highlights of it for me. Falling into any number of roles within the roster to sublime results.
6 Hiroyo Matsumoto 29
Hiroyo has been one of the most consistent wrestlers over the course of the last 15 years. Continuously, she's delivering at an amazing level and is always reliable. This month was no exception, she's been great this whole year to be honest. The real good tags have been the star this month, the aforementioned bob banana boat match, the evolution pro tag. Just the very definition of plug in anywhere and she will absolutely excel. She had a real fun singles with Saori Anou in Oz Academy. Genuinely one of the best hosses in all of wrestling who deserves far more props then she gets.
5 Sareee 30
Sareee this month could be found mostly partaking in her favorite past time of murdering rookies. All of those matches are really fun, whether it's Ai, Sora, or even Fuwa in tag action. The Sun God has had a ball of a time beating the next generation into the best versions of themselves. She went through a trial by fire from day 1 at the hands of Meiko, Kyoko, and Aja. She has now become the trial herself, and for these young wrestlers to become who they're meant to be, they have to go through her. It brings the very best out of some of these workers, (Sora and Ai in particular.) Others may crumble, but they all learn what level they need to strive for at Sareee's hands.
4 Averno 31.5
Averno is one of the best rudos of the 21st century, 30 years into his career and having an amazing start to the year, killing it every time he is asked to. From Japan, to the Cathedral in Mexico City, to the outskirts of Guadalajara, one of Satanico's Infernales shows exactly what that means. He killed it opposite Mistico in tags as one would expect with them having done that dance a time or a thousand. His match with Atlantis Jr. where he won the title from him was one of the very best matches of Fantastica Mania. The main event with him and Magnus (hopefully Magnus commits to being black tiger,) opposite Mistico and Dorada was exemplary, just a rudo's rudo being one of the very best to this day, he plays his role perfectly.
3 Mascara Dorada 32.75
Mascara Dorada has continued his trend of being one of wrestling's premier high flyers. Wowing crowds all over the world, another CMLL wrestler who killed the Fantastica Mania tour with wonderful matches, both in tags with Mistico and the previously mentioned Hechicero match. He used the lack of limits that are in place for CMLL matches to put on a spectacular match with the Alchemist. An amazing worker who is slowly but surely getting better and better in singles matches as his tag work continues to sparkle. The main event match with Magnus and Averno vs sky team was a delight. My personal fave was the Futuro Valiente Jr vs Sky Team tag just a delightful spot fest that is a treat to watch.
2 Mistico 33.5
Mistico had a solid month, not otherworldly like January, but he still is Mistico. He has his formula and when it hits it is incredible. I will give a slight criticism that his singles matches have started to go too long for me, but now for the good. His tag work is still unbelievably good, perfectly structured for the La Mistica win at the end after the extended Rudo beat down section. Now that's all to say the Templario singles match is definitely a must-watch and incredible work from both men. Mistico is continuing his absolutely incredible year.
1 Templario 34.25
Templario is someone I wasn't a huge fan of before this year, but thus far he has knocked his opportunities out of the park. He had the excellent singles with Mistico, an awesome one with Ultimo Guerrero and an unbelievable lighting match with Soberano. He has just killed it every single time out there and has earned this ranking of #1. Just a fantastic wrestler who had a superb month.
